Our First French Lesson

We had our first French lesson today. Pascale is very nice and puts you at ease. We are finding it difficult to remember things (it’s an age thing!) but we are persevering.

We bought the recommended book and tapes Façon de Parler and have been revising when we can find the time, it’s a very busy time for Wendy with Christmas fast approaching.

Financial Stuff

We had a man round today to provide an estimate on renting our house. He confirmed the price we both had in our heads, so no great surprises there !

We have also been talking to our accountant regarding the tax situation as Dennis will still undertake work for clients in the UK when we are living in France, and hopefully start to attract some French clients as well. It's not that simple ! ... watch this space.

Pascale to the rescue !

We managed to book some French lessons today, we are to go to Westcliff on Friday at 1pm for a two hour lesson with Pascale. She sounded very French on the telephone, so we are very hopeful that she can help us start to get to grips with the language… watch this space!

Cassoulet au Confit de Canard

I was talking to Graham on MSN Messenger discussing the Cassoulet au Confit de Canard (Duck in beans with a little bit of sausage) we had bought in error on the way back to Nimes airport. He convinced me that it would be an idea for me to have it for my lunch. Wendy prepared it, I must say, it must be an acquired taste, and was not really for me.
